« ECHO » whippet mâle castré bringé bleu, face grisonnante, né à l’élevage (Hunting Free) le 23/03/2005, tatoué BHKCTR, s’est échappé de son domicile, mercredi passé, le 20/11/2013, à Moustier Sur Sambre (Sambreville, Namur, Belgique). Il aurait été vu hier soir, le mardi 26/11/2013 à Jemeppe Sur Sambre, fouillant les poubelles d’un parking de supermarché. L’élevage était représenté par 4 whippets à ce dernier coursing de l’année, organisé par le club de Beringen à Merksplas, sur un terrain très boueux, par ces dernières semaines de pluie (on pourrait même dire de mousson). Le circuit était court mais bien pensé au vu des conditions climatiques avec deux poulies pas très réglementaires mais qui permettaient un beau zigzag des lévriers tels des motos (de cross). Les résultats : en femelles, pour sa dernière participation, la vétérane « Hunting Free Eternity » termine 14è/20 (je lui souhaite une retraite heureuse chez ses propriétaires, devenus de véritables passionnés des lévriers depuis elle, qu’ils continuent à concrétiser par de bons résultats tant en travail qu’en beauté avec leur élevage Canoodles : Whippets & Greyhounds). « Hunting Free InExcess » termine 9è/20, avec une superbe 2è manche, félicitations « Ninie » ! En mâles, ce fût le premier coursing pour le jeune « Hunting Free Lord » qui, malgré sa 25è place sur 28, a déjà pu démontrer ses qualités en chasse et volonté car il a d’abord couru avec le Champion de France de Patricia (qui termine à la 3è place de la Coupe de Belgique 2013) et un whippet d’origines racing l’après-midi. « Hunting Free Klinton » termine 13è/28, avec une meilleure endurance à chaque coursing. « Dixietown Fia Jansson » a testé un circuit de coursing avec un coéquipier pour la première fois et a déjà démontré ses qualités avec une motivation extrême : bravo !!! Concernant les résultats de la Coupe de Belgique, je félicite tous les participants à cette saison 2013 et les podiums de chaque race, malgré que certains fussent déjà irrattrapables, depuis le coursing de Méan en juillet, suite au nouveau règlement reprenant le total des points des juges et non plus en tenant compte du classement du lévrier avec le bonus du nombre des concurrents au départ. Si ce nouveau système de calcul pour le classement de la coupe de Belgique continue, je conseillerai aux juges de surcoter les lévriers afin d’être choisi pour les prochains coursings. Les juges sévères dans leurs points bien souvent à juste titre, risquent de ne plus trop juger ! Je félicite donc tous les lévriers qui ont pris le départ en compétition cette année : car, au-delà des résultats, des performances et des titres recherchés par certains, chaque lévrier a couru, d’abord pour son simple plaisir, mais surtout pour le plaisir de ses propriétaires ! Donc que le lévrier soit premier ou dernier, athlétique ou dit « paresseux » par certains « propriétaires », ayez le respect de cette perfection canine que sont les lévriers : tellement superbes en course, tellement fidèles au quotidien et tellement gentils en vie de famille !!! Certains propriétaires ne les méritent pas !!!

Hunting Free kennel was represented by four whippets at the last lure coursing competition of the year , organized by the Beringen club in Merksplas, on a very muddy field, following recent weeks of rain ( one might even say "monsoon" ) . The tour was short but well thought regarding the weather conditions, with two pulleys not very regulated but that allowed a beautiful zigzag for sighthounds, like cross bikes. The results : in the girls, for her last appearance , the veteran " Hunting Free Eternity " ends 14th/20 (I wish her a happy retirement with her owners, became true sighthounds lovers from her , that they continue to achieve as well in work than in beauty with their Canoodles Whippets & Greyhounds Kennel ) . " Hunting Free Inexcess " 9th/20 ends with a superb 2nd round , congratulations " Ninie "! In the dogs, this was the first coursing for the young " Hunting Free Lord " who, despite his 25th place out of 28 , has already demonstrated his qualities in hunt and will, because he first ran with the Patricia's French Champion (who finished in 3rd place in the 2013 Belgian Cup) and a whippet with racing origins in the afternoon . " Hunting Free Klinton " 13th/28 ends with better endurance every coursing . " Dixietown Fia Jansson " tested a circuit coursing with a teammate for the first time and has already proved her qualities with great motivation: bravo ! Regarding the results of the Belgian Cup , I congratulate all the participants in this 2013 season and podiums in each breed, although some were already impossible to overtake since the Méan coursing in July , following the new rules, including total points of the judges and not taking into account the ranking of the sighthounds with the bonus depending of the number of competitors at the start . If this new system for calculating the classification of the Belgian Cup continues, I advise judges to over rank the sighthounds to be chosen for the next coursings . Severe judges in their points often rightly, may not judge anymore ! I congratulate all the sighthounds that took the start in competition this year because , beyond the results , performance and qualifications sought by some, each sighthound ran , firstly for his joy , but especially for the pleasure to his owners ! So that the sighthound is the first or the last , athletic or said "lazy" by some "owners" , have the respect for this canine perfection that sighthounds are : so beautiful in the race, so faithful every day and so nice to family life! ! Some owners do not deserve them !

Coursing), «Hunting Free Codybill» (Coursing Winner), «Hunting Free Challenger» (Multi Ch. Coursing), «Hunting Free Chivas» et «Hunting Free Chelsea» (Multi Ch. Coursing & Racing) ! Chelsea qui espère le plus beau cadeau si elle devient bientôt grand-mère… En ce jour, je tiens à remercier leur mère «Volgai’as Xaïda» (hélas disparue il y a peu), leur père «Sinndar de Pennekamp» (Ch. Racing) et Valérie qui ont permis ce mariage de qualité !

Coursing à Sint Pieters Rode où avait lieu le Grand Prix de Belgique, permettant une place au Championnat d’Europe pour les vainqueurs : bravo à eux ! Comme à son habitude, je félicite mon « champion de gamin : Celtic Free Hunter » qui a encore démontré ses talents de chasseur avec endurance et ardeur ; mais, comme souvent hélas ces derniers temps, il n’a récolté que des points moyens (il termine 12è/15) ! Apparemment, un bon lévrier de coursing ne doit pas mener la chasse en prenant des initiavtives et ne doit pas capturer la proie en premier : pourtant, mener la chasse est important et ne signifie pas nécessairement être le plus rapide. C’était donc notre dernier coursing ! Concernant les autres coursiers, le jeune « Hunting Free Klinton » s’améliore vraiment bien en endurance (il termine 8è). En femelles, un bon classement pour « Hunting Free InExcess » et la vétéran « Hunting Free Eternity », toujours véloce pour ses 8 ans et 1/2 (respectivement 4ème & 5ème…). « Dixietown Fia Jansson », spectatrice très motivée, a profité d’une belle journée conviviale...

Coursing in Sint Pieters Rode where was held the Grand Prix of Belgium, for a place in the European Championship for the winners: Congratulations to them! As usual, I congratulate my champion kid : “Celtic Free Hunter" who has again demonstrated his talents as a hunter with stamina and enthusiasm , but as unfortunately often lately, he received an average score (12th/15 ) ! Apparently , a good coursing sighthound should not lead the hunt taking initiatives and should not capture the prey first: however , lead the hunt is important and does not necessarily mean being the fastest. This was our last coursing !
On the other runners, the young "Hunting Free Klinton" really improves endurance ( he finished 8th ) . In the girls, a high ranking for "Hunting Free InExcess" (4th) and veteran "Hunting Free Eternity" (5th) always swift to 8 1/2 years old. "Dixietown Fia Jansson" highly motivated spectator enjoyed a nice friendly day ...

L’élevage était présent à la journée festive du club, sous un soleil d’été indien ! Y était organisé un championnat du club pour les licenciés en racing, mais surtout un bel hommage rendu à nos chers vieux, nos champions et la présentation de nos jeunes et futurs coursiers. Un tout grand merci au club pour les superbes cadeaux offerts : couettes pour les vieux, gamelles remplies de biscuits et jouets pour les jeunes.

The kennel was present at the festive day of the club, under Indian summer sun! There was organized a club racing championship for licended dogs, but also a fitting tribute to our dear old, our champions and the presentation of our youth and future racers. A big thank to the club for the great gifts offered: quilts for olds, bowls filled with cookies and toys for youngers.

Dernier coursing à Vien organisé par le CNBCL. La seule journée sans pluie de la semaine (merci à la déesse du coursing) près de 70 lévriers ont pris le départ, sous les jugements de MM Dehaes & Duponcheel (B) qui ont trouvé que le circuit représentait bien un simulacre de chasse et la fuite d’un gibier fictif, ils ont eu 5 ouvertures de piste avec grandes et petites races (qui se sont déroulées sans le moindre problème, alors qu'ils s'agissait pourtant de chiens débutants et inexpérimentés) pour bien observer le tracé, et ils ont donné leur accord sur le montage du parcours.

Voici les résultats chez les whippets : en femelles : une très belle progression au niveau de l’attention pour Hunting Free Isatis qui finit à la même place que la Ch. Hunting Free Hermione (8è/11) ; une dernière place pour Dixietown Min Egen Metod qui avait pourtant très bien couru le matin et un tout grand bravo pour Hunting Free InExcess qui démontre toujours ses qualités d’agilité dans les virages et finit (4è/11). Chez les mâles, une petite baisse de régime en endurance mais bien compensée par sa volonté pour le jeune Hunting Free Klinton qui termine 17è/19. Mon champion de gamin termine 14è/19 : je ne dirai rien sur les points reçus le matin par rapport à son coéquipier : ce dernier étant pourtant un excellent coursier mais il ne l’était pas du tout lors de sa course du matin avec Ch. Celtic Free Hunter. Mais les juges sont souverains et, tant qu’ils sont objectifs, je n’ai rien à redire, (ce qui est le cas pour nos 2 juges invités) et pour cela, je les en remercie… : même si nos avis sur la manière de chasser d’un lévrier sont quelques fois différents, c’est cela la diversité d’opinion.

Il est bien dommage, que suite à cette épreuve, qui a malheureusement vu quelques blessés, certaines personnes (dont quelques unes qui n'étaient même pas présentes) se sont empressées de dénigrer sur les forums et autres résaux sociaux, tant le circuit que le club organisateur. Le CNBCL a déjà organisé de nombreuses épreuves sur ce terrain, le circuit est quasiment toujours le même, il est connu, et a toujours été approuvé par les juges. Les propriétaires qui n'apprécient pas le circuit et/ou le terrain ne sont pas obligés d'y engager leurs chiens. Ce circuit n'est pas plus dangereux qu'un autre, même s'il est toujours possible de polémiquer comme dans le débat circuit ouvert / circuit fermé. Des blessures peuvent survenir en toutes circontances, sur tous les types de circuits, aussi bien qu'à l'entraînement de racing en solo, et les plus graves ont parfois lieu tout simplement dans nos jardins, mais nous ne pouvons bien sûr que souhaiter un prompt rétablissement aux Lévriers blessés.

Qu’il est loin le temps où le coursing était synonyme de convivialité, d’entraide entre clubs et de respect !!! Ces mauvaises attitudes, qui n'apportent rien de constructif, et ne sont heureusement le fait que d'une minorité de personnes, ne risquent malgré tout de ne provoquer qu’une seule chose : le dégoût de certains participants et organisateurs et donc à moyen ou long terme la fin de cette discipline qui est la seule mettant en valeur toutes les qualités de chasse du lévrier, combien encore de coursings en Belgique (qui ne sont déjà pas très nombreux par rapport à nos pays voisins!) ?... Heureusement, cette convivialité et cette passion du coursing et de nos coursiers, nous les avons retrouvées chez la plupart des participants à cette journée (qui ont apprécié, nous ont remerciés et ont émis le regret de cette dernière fois) et dans notre super équipe de bénévoles du club et amis : merci !

The only dry day of the week ( thank you to the goddess of coursing ) about 70 Sighthounds took the start , in the judgment of Mr. Dehaes & Duponcheel (B) who found that the circuit represented well a real hunting and escape of a fictive wild animal , they had five opening tracks with large and small breeds (which took place without any problems , however they were beginners and inexperienced dogs) to carefully observe the ground , and they have agreed on the setting up of the trail.

Here are the results in the whippets : in bitches : a great increase in attention for Hunting Free Isatis who ends in the same place as Ch Hunting Free Hermione ( 8è/11 ), the last place to Dixietown Min Egen Metod who nevertheless ran very well in the morning, and a very big applause for Hunting Free Inexcess who always shows her qualities of agility in curves and ends ( 4è/11 ) . In dogs, a small a loss of power in endurance but compensated by his willingness for the young Hunting Free Klinton who finished 17è/19 . My champion kid ends 14è/19 : I will not say anything about the points received in the morning compared to his teammate: he is however a great runner but he was not at all during his morning run with Ch Celtic Free Hunter . But judges are sovereign and , as long as they are objective , i have noting to say, (which is the case for our two guest judges ) , and for that I thank them ... : even if our views on the Sighthounds hunt are a few times different , this is the diversity of opinion .

It 's a shame that after this event , which has unfortunately seen some wounded dogs , some people (including some who were not even present ) were quick to denigrate on the forums and other social networks, the circuit and the organizing club . The CNBCL has organized numerous events on this ground , the circuit is almost always the same , it is known , and has been approved by the judges. Owners who do not like the circuit and/or the ground are not forced to enter their dogs. This circuit is not more dangerous than another, even if it is still possible to argue, as in the debate open circuit / closed circuit. Injuries can occur in any circontances , on all types of circuits, as well as during the solo racing training, and serious sometimes occur just in our gardens, but we can not do anything else than wishing a speedy recovery to the injured Sighthounds .

It is a long time since the coursing was synonymous of friendliness , support and mutual respect between clubs ! These bad attitudes, that contribute to nothing constructive, which are fortunately the fact of a minority of people are still likely to cause only one thing: the disgust of some participants and organizers and therefore, to medium or long term, the end of this discipline that is however the only highlighting of the qualities of hunting hounds , how much coursings still in Belgium (which are already not very numerous compared to our neighboring countries) ?
? ... Fortunately, the friendship and passion of coursing and our racers , we have found them in most of the participants in this day (who appreciated, thanked us and expressed their regrets for this last time) and our great team of volunteers and friends of the club : thank you !

Notre elfe vient de nous quitter, après plusieurs mois de soins palliatifs : courageuse, comme elle l’a toujours été. Hunting Free Breakdance était très véloce et volontaire en coursing, elle était toujours prête à capturer le leurre en action. Excellente en beauté et participant à deux Championnats d’Europe et en Championnat de France de Coursing où elle représenta dignement la Belgique malgré qu’elle ne soit pas de lignée de course. Elle ne fût jamais bien appréciée par la plupart des juges belges car elle était d’un type léger et classique anglais, d’une rapidité moyenne mais constante, elle impressionnait en simulacre de chasse ! Sarah est partie rejoindre sa maman, sa sœur et son frère, eux aussi disparus trop tôt et son amie de tous les jours, Volgai’as Xaïda (Chloé) partie il y a peu. Sois libérée Sarah, tu es dans mon cœur !

Our elf has just left us, after several months of palliative care: courageous, as she always has been. Hunting Free Breakdance was very swift and willing in coursing, she was always ready to capture the lure in action. Excellent in beauty and participating in two European Coursing Championships and French Coursing Championship where she represented Belgium with dignity although she was not from racing bloodlines. She was never well appreciated by most Belgian judges because she was a light and classic english style, with an average but constant speed, she impressed in hunt! Sarah has gone to her mother, her sister and brother also disappeared too soon and her friend of every day, Volgai'as Xaïda (Chloe) who left also short time ago. Be free Sarah, you'll be always in my heart!

Pour la 2è fois consécutive, à une exposition au Luxembourg, ma suédoise « Dixietown Min Egen Metod » termine 2è excellent RCACL (classe travail) : juge Mr Sistermann (D). On essayera encore en 2014…

For the 2nd time in a row, at a Luxembourg dog show, my Swedish "Dixietown Min Egen Metod" finishes 2nd Excellent RCACL (working class) judge Mr Sistermann (D). We will try again in 2014 ...

Nous étions (Patricia et moi) dans la belle région vinicole de Chardonnay (France) pour le rassemblement du Championnat de France de PVL (Coursing) sous les jugements de Mme Provenzano et de Mrs Klein et Lassignardie. Les meilleurs représentants de l’année 2013 étaient au départ sous un ciel plus clément que celui du samedi : venteux, pluvieux et orageux ! Merci à notre tente, d’une marque connue, d’avoir si bien tenu contre un vent fort, pluie et orage ! Voici donc notre jeune coursier « Hunting Free Klinton » au départ de la première manche et … ce qui ne lui était jamais arrivé arriva : une très légère perte de leurre dans la remontée du terrain (cela se paye cher au niveau des points lors d’un championnat) mais il y montra tout de même une bonne intelligence de chasse en rameutant directement sur son coéquipier… Lors de sa deuxième manche, il y couru une de ses plus belle course, démontrant ardeur et vitesse, sautant une cuvette dans la descente et dépassant son coéquipier d’une telle vitesse qu’il en dégouta presque ce dernier qui laissa Klinton terminer seul la partie la plus éloignée du parcours pour essayer de lui voler le leurre à l’arrivée, mais Klinton accéléra pour le lui reprendre sous les applaudissements du public, bravo ! Cette superbe course lui valu de rattraper l’erreur du matin et de finir avec le qualificatif excellent (21è/26) mais avec un très beau pointage vu son erreur du matin (10 points de plus que le dernier et 9 points de moins que le vainqueur). A noter que son demi-frère, fils aussi du Multi Champion « Hunting Free Dragon » termine Vice Champion de France, à un point de bonus du premier : félicitations à tous les finalistes !

We were (Patricia and me) in the beautiful wine area of Chardonnay (France) for the gathering of French PVL (coursing)Championship under the judgments of Mrs. Provenzano and MM. Klein and Lassignardie. The best competitors of 2013 were entered under a sky warmer Sunday than Saturday: windy, rainy and stormy! Thank to our tent, a brand known for having so well held against a strong wind, rain and storm! Here is our young racer "Hunting Free Klinton" in the first round ... and that had never happened... happened: a very slight loss of the lure in the rise of the ground (it costs a lot of points during a championship), but he still showed a good understanding of hunting stirring up directly over his teammate ... in his second round, he ran one of his best races, demonstrating enthusiasm and speed, leaping over a bowl in the descent and overstepping his teammate so fast thzt he almost disgusted that one, who let Klinton finish alone the farthest part of the course to try to steal the lure upon the arrival, but Klinton accelerated to get it back under the public applause, bravo! This great race allowed him to catch up the error in the morning and he finished with an Excellent (21è/26) but with a very good score regarding his mistake in the morning (10 points higher than the last one and nine points lower than the winner). Noteworthy that his half-brother, also son of Multi Champion "Hunting Free Dragon" finished French Vice Champion, only one point (bonus) below the winner: congratulations to all the finalists!

Ma suédoise « Dixietown Min Egen Metod » a participé à l’Exposition du Club Royal Belge des Lévriers à Polleur et elle était la seule représentante des lévriers en travail sur une cinquantaine d’inscrits : c’est regrettable pour des races dont la fonction première est le travail et non juste la présentation en trot sur un ring d’exposition, comme le Bichon par exemple… Elle obtient 1^er excellent et Best In Show Work !!!

My Swedish "Dixietown Min Egen Metod" was entered in the Royal Belgian Sighthounds Club show in Polleur and she was the only representative in the working class amongst fifty sighthounds entries : this is regrettable for breeds whose primary function is work and not only the trotting presentation on a show ring, such as a Bichon ... She gets 1st Excellent and Best In Show work !

Notre matriarche vient de nous quitter, à presque 15 ans, dans la sérénité, sans souffrance, avec le dernier respect que je pouvais lui accorder : son corps n’avait tout simplement plus la force de rester parmi nous, n’ayant pas été aidé par ces derniers jours de canicule. Chloé : chienne fidèle, sage, coursière unique, la fierté de Jean-Pierre : d’une vélocité inégalée encore chez les whippets d’aujourd’hui ; mais avant tout une mère aimante et patiente pour ses chiots qui perpétuent désormais ses qualités… Merci Audrey de m’avoir confié cette femelle d’exception ! Merci Chloé : pour toutes ces années de bonheur partagé, que ce soit en coursing, en racing, en exposition ou tout simplement au quotidien. Tu t’occupais toujours de tes deux filles, les championnes Hunting Free Chelsea et Hunting Free Goldie même si elles avaient passé l’âge d’être choyées comme des chiots (10 ans et 6 ans). Aucune autre ne pourra t’égaler dans le rôle de pilier de la meute : adieu… Ta présence calme et rassurante nous manque déjà, à moi…à tous…

Our matriarch just left us, almost 15 years old, in serenity, without suffering, with the latter respect that I could give her, her body was simply no longer strength to stay with us, not having been helped these last days of heatwave. Chloe faithful dog, wise, unique runner, pride of Jean-Pierre, of unrivaled velocity even in today's whippets, but above all a loving and patient mother to her puppies that now perpetuate her qualities ... Thanks Audrey for having given me this exception!al girl ! Thank you Chloe for all those years of shared happiness, either in coursing, racing, or show, or just everyday. You always took care of your two daughters, Ch. Hunting Free Chelsea and Ch. Hunting Free Goldie even if they had passed the age of being pampered like puppies (10 years and 6 years) old. No one else can equal you in the role as a mainstay of the dogs family: goodbye ... Your calm and reassuring presence will be missed, to me ... to all ...

Une participation très attendue dans l’accueillant parc de Mersch au Luxembourg sous un soleil enfin estival ! En effet c’était la toute dernière participation en exposition d’ Ursula Andress du Haras d’Hélios dite Pretty, âgée de 10 ans (et 3 mois) et qui a démontré sa grande forme en terminant 1^ère excellent permettant le titre de Championne vétéran du Luxembourg (qu’elle a déjà), Meilleure Vétéran mais surtout 2^ème toutes races confondues sur le ring d’honneur : Réserve Best in Show Vétéran !!! Encore merci ma Pretty pour ta très belle carrière tant en beauté qu’en travail et pour tes gentils chiots « H » nés en 2008… Enfin, Dixietown Min Egen Metod, inscrite pour la 1^ère fois en classe travail, termine 2^ème excellent RCACL. Un superbe parc dans lequel nous nous sommes promenés longuement, mes Whippets et moi-même.

Pour conclure, je souhaite à tous, qui auront la chance de partir en vacances, de beaux voyages, sans oublier le bien-être de vos compagnons à 4 pattes (qu’ils partent avec vous ou qu’ils soient confiés à la famille, à une pension ou à des amis). N’oubliez pas que les vacances sont limitées dans le temps mais que l’amour de votre compagnon à 4 pattes est, lui, illimité !!!

Ursula Andress du Haras d'Hélios Dixietown Min Egen Metod

A highly participation in the cozy park of Mersch in Luxembourg under a summer sun finally ! Indeed it was the very last participation in show for Ursula Andress du Haras Helios called Pretty, aged 10 (and 3 months) and who has shown her great form, finishing first Excellent allowing the title of Champion Veteran Luxembourg Champion (she has already), but especially the second Best Veteran all breeds in the main ring: Reserve Best in Show Veteran! I thank you again my Pretty for your great career in both work and show and your nice puppies "H" born in 2008 ... Finally, Dixietown Min Egen Metod, entered for the first time in working class, finished second Excellent RCACL.

To conclude, I wish all who are lucky enough to go on vacation, nice trips, not to mention the well-being of your 4-legged companions (whether they go with you or stay with the family, in a pension or friends). Remember that the holidays are limited in time but the love of your 4 legged companion himself is unlimited!

Pour sa 4^ème PVL (Coursing), à Belfort, le jeune Hunting Free Klinton termine 6^ème excellent sur 17, dû à un léger manque d’endurance l’après-midi, du fait de 3 départs sur la journée. En effet, malheureusement pour son coéquipier du matin, il a fallu arrêter la course en plein milieu car ce dernier a touché un des nouveaux arbres plantés, un choc très douloureux mais rien de cassé selon le vétérinaire de garde, nous lui souhaitons un prompt rétablissement… Ce dernier résultat, ajouté aux autres, devrait permettre au jeune Hunting Free Klinton de se sélectionner pour le Championnat de France fin août : on croise les doigts…

Mon champion de gamin Celtic Free Hunter, comme depuis Rougé, a encore choisi la mauvaise option du premier virage l’après-midi et Hunting Free Isatis a encore perdu le leurre le matin : malgré une bonne course sur deux, ils sont tous les deux derniers. Voyant que ces derniers temps, peu importe le lévrier engagé, malgré parfois d’excellentes prestations et des efforts sérieux d’entraînements au quotidien, les résultats, parfois justifiés bien entendu, ne sont pas bons, je pense faire une pause concernant la participation de mon champion de gamin et surtout mes femelles à la plupart des compétitions de coursings…

For his fourth PVL (Coursing) in Belfort, young Hunting Free Klinton finishes 6th Excellent of 17, due to a slight lack of endurance in the afternoon, because of three starts on the day. In fact, unfortunately for his teammate in the morning, they had to stop the race in the middle because this dog hit one of the newly planted trees, a very painful shock but nothing broken according to veterinarian care, we wish him a speedy recovery ... This last result, together with the others, should allow the young Hunting Free Klinton to be selected for the French Championship in late August, we cross our fingers ...
My champion kid Celtic Free Hunter, as since Rouge, still chose the wrong option in the first turn in the afternoon and Hunting Free Isatis lost once again the lure in the morning and despite a good race out of two, they are both last. Seeing that lately, no matter which entered dog, despite some excellent performances and serious efforts to train everyday, results, sometimes justified, of course, are not good, I think to make a break on the participation of my champion kid and especially my bitches in most coursing competitions ...

Pour sa 3^ème PVL (coursing), le jeune Hunting Free Klinton termine à la 2^ème place RCACP, à l’épreuve nationale de Barlin (F), félicitations Patricia ! Un terrain en « L » qui était bien exploité malgré le manque de visibilité de tout le parcours par les propriétaires et les visiteurs. Une journée dans une ambiance conviviale malgré les débuts laborieux de l’équipe technique mais qui n’a jamais renoncé afin que la journée de compétition puisse avoir lieu, merci pour leur ingéniosité. Mon champion de gamin Celtic Free Hunter et les filles (Ch. Hunting Free Hermione et Hunting Free Isatis) terminent aussi avec le qualificatif Excellent.

For his third PVL (coursing), the young Hunting Free Klinton finished in 2nd place RCACP, at the national competition in Barlin (F), congratulations Patricia ! A ground in "L" which was well exploited despite the lack of visibility of the whole course by the owners and visitors. A day in a friendly atmosphere despite the slow start of the technical team, but who never gave up so that the day of competition went well, thank you for their ingenuity. My champion kid Celtic Free Hunter and the girls (Ch. Hunting Free Hermione and Hunting Free Isatis) also finished with the qualification Excellent.

Je vous écris un mot sur la tragique disparition du jeune Adrien Ferry, décédé le 17 mai 2013, à l’âge de 21 ans, dans un accident de la route le menant au Championnat du Monde de Chiens (Show - Hongrie). Que la vie est cruelle ! Que la vie est injuste ! Partir si tôt… Je côtoyais Adrien lors du peu d’expositions auxquelles je participais et surtout via Michèle Chonac chez qui nous avions tous passés un excellent déjeuner le samedi précédant son décès. Un jeune homme talentueux dans son domaine du handling (présentation de chiens en exposition) mais qui avait, avant tout, le respect des chiens et surtout de leurs propriétaires, ce qui n’est pas le cas de tous les handlers, soi disant plus anciens dans la profession. Il était toujours prêt à aider, donnant le meilleur de lui-même pour mettre les chiens en valeur sur les rings de présentations, où la complicité réelle entre les chiens et lui était plus qu’évidente, surtout dans les races les plus sensibles (ex : les chihuahuas, les whippets…), connues pour ne pas donner facilement leur confiance. Je n’ai pas eu le temps de plus le connaître, la vie en ayant hélas décidé autrement ! Un jeune homme de valeur nous a quittés, ne l’oublions jamais ! I write a word about the tragic death of the young Adrien Ferry, died on 17 May 2013, at the age of 21, in a road accident leading to the World Dog Shwo (Exhibition - Hungary). That life is cruel! That life is unfair! Leave so early ...

I hung around Adrien during few dog shows in which I participated and especially via Michele Chonac in which we all had passed an excellent lunch on the Saturday before his death. A talented young man in his purview of handling (presentation show dogs) but who, above all, had respect for dogs and especially their owners, which is not the case for all handlers, supposedly oldest in the job. He was always willing to help, giving the best of himself to put the dogs in the best value in the show ring where the actual bond between dogs and him was more obvious, especially in the most sensitive breeds (eg : chihuahuas, Whippets ...), known to not easily give their trust. I have had no time to know him more, life has unfortunately decided otherwise! A young man of value left us, never forget him! Here is a link posted by a friend: a beautiful tribute! Nous voici à l’organisation de notre coursing international du club, à Vien, initialement prévu à Barvaux mais indisponible cette année vu un grand rassemblement de chiens de troupeaux sur moutons. Nous avions choisi le petit terrain car nous voulions éviter à nos représentants belges sélectionnés pour le Championnat européen le désagrément connu en 2011, de nombreuses pertes du leurre et donc de risque d’annulation à la participation pour représenter notre pays et surtout à cause de la dangerosité de la route aux accès du grand terrain malgré les panneaux de ralentissements installées par la commune de Vien. Peu de participants cette année mais ce qui nous a permis une plus grande convivialité encore, tous les participants étant contents du terrain, des repas et des entraînements organisés pour les jeunes. Côté résultats, une excellente 2^ème manche pour Hunting Free InExcess qui termine 3^ème et démontre encore une fois ses qualités pour représenter le pays à des championnats internationaux (…). Mon champion de gamin Celtic Free Hunter termine 13^ème sur 22 malgré 2 très belles courses où il fait accélérer le leurre en tentant plusieurs captures mais où il montre parfois un peu trop qu’il sait où va aller le leurre (chasseur !). Le fils de Hunting Free Hutchinson à Patricia né chez Nicole termine 2^ème. Le fils du Multi Ch. Hunting Free Dragon termine 5^ème, félicitations Patricia et Solange ! Côté filles, ce fût de moins bons résultats pour Hunting Free Eternity et Ch. Hunting Free Hermione qui, pour cette dernière, termine 7^ème sur 11, démontrant son esprit de chasseuse en contre sens, bien utile sur du vrai gibier mais pas apprécié par les juges. Enfin ce fût un excellent WE, malgré mon extinction de voix, où le maître mot était la convivialité et l’entre aide au sein des membres du club et de nos amis de Westerlo et même de France : merci à tous !!!

Here we are, organizing our club international coursing in Vien, originally scheduled to Barvaux, but unavailable this year because of a large gathering of dogs sheeps herders. We chose the small part of ground because we wanted to save the Belgian competitors selected for the European Championship from the bad experience of 2011, with many losses of the lure and therefore risk of cancellation to represent our country and especially because of the dangerous road to access the large ground despite slowdowns panels installed by the municipality of Vien. Few participants this year, but that gave us an even greater ease, all participants are happy with the ground, the meals and the organized trainings for young dogs. Regarding results, an excellent second round for Hunting Free Inexcess who finished third and once again demonstrates her qualities to represent our country at international championships (...). My kid champion Celtic Free Hunter finished 13th out of 22 despite two very good races where he accelerate the lure trying several catches, but he sometimes shows too that he knows where the lure will go (hunter!). The son of Hunting Free Hutchinson, owned by Patricia and born to Nicole, finished 2nd. The son of Multi Ch Hunting Free Dragon finished 5th, congratulations Patricia and Solange! Girls side, it was less successful for Hunting Free Eternity and Ch Hunting Free Hermione, for the latter, she finished 7th of 11, demonstrating her hunter mind running against the lure, very useful in the real prey but not appreciated by judges. Finally it was a great weekend, despite my loss of voice, where the key word was the friendliness and mutual aid among club members and friends of Westerlo and even France: thank you to all.

Comme nous étions dans les environs et que cette épreuve à Beaune (F) se trouvait sur le chemin pour remonter vers la Belgique via le Luxembourg, Patricia a inscrit à une épreuve internationale dans un très beau cadre d’un parc d’un château où j’ai été heureuse de revoir Hunting Free Hutchinson en plein effort qui finit avec une excellente place, son fils à Patricia et né chez Nicole remporte la 3^ème place et c’est le jeune Champion de Solange qui gagne : bon sang ne saurait mentir, c’est encore un fils du Multi Champion Hunting Free Dragon ! Félicitations Solange ! Dommage que le froid était de la partie malgré le soleil.

As we were in the area and that this event in Beaune (F) was on our way back to Belgium via Luxembourg, Patricia entered in this international event in a beautiful castle's park where I was happy to see Hunting Free Hutchinson in full effort that ends with a great place, his son, owned by Patricia born at Nicole's home won the 3rd place and it is the young Solange's champion who wins: good blood can not lie, he is again a son of Multi Champion Hunting Free Dragon ! Congratulations Solange! Too bad that the cold was part, despite the sun.

Participation à la PVL (coursing) de la Nationale d’Elevage organisée par le Club Français du Whippet à Dallet près de Clermont Ferrand (F) : un long voyage qui nous a permis, à Patricia et moi-même de confronter nos whippets à un important nombre de participants (une cinquantaine en mâles et une septantaine en femelles) ! Y participaient Hunting Free Evinrude, Hunting Free Isatis, Hunting Free Klinton et Ch. Celtic Free Hunter: tous y ont été classés avec le qualificatif excellent sauf mon champion de gamin qui, après une superbe course le matin, a perdu le leurre l’après-midi avec son coéquipier. Le seul regret est que le leurre ait été si éloigné (il se trouvait 2 poulies plus loin) donc impossibilité pour les chasseurs qui pourtant cherchaient sans cesse de retrouver le leurre, déjà presque arrivé à la fin, sous nos pieds !!

Le meilleur résultat est pour le jeune (sa 2^ème PVL) Hunting Free Klinton qui termine 9^ème ex aequo, félicitations Patricia ! Bon sang ne saurait mentir : c’est encore un fils du Multi Champion Hunting Free Dragon !

Participation in the PVL (coursing) of the National Specialty organized by the French Whippet Club in Dallet near Clermont Ferrand (F): a long journey that has allowed us to Patricia and myself to confront our whippets to a large number of competitors (about fifty dogs and seventy bitches)! Were entered: Hunting Free Evinrude, Hunting Free Isatis, Hunting Free Klinton and Ch. Celtic Free Hunter: all have been placed with the Excellent qualify, except my kid after a great race in the morning, he lost the lure in the afternoon with his teammate. The only regret is that the lure has been so far (it was 2 blocks away) therefore impossible for hunters, yet constantly sought to find the lure, already almost at the end, under our feet!
The best result is for the young (his second PVL) Hunting Free Klinton who finished 9th tied. Congratulations Patricia! Good blood does not lie: he is still a son of Multi Champion Hunting Free Dragon !

Sous un soleil plus que printanier, l’élevage a présenté 3 femelles à la spéciale de race (NE-B) organisée par le Club Belge du Whippet sur le site du cynodrome de Beringen où nos whippets ont pu profiter de longues promenades dans un cadre très agréable : la jeune « Hunting Free LightMoon » pour sa 1^ère exposition, sa mère la Championne « Hunting Free Goldie » et la Championne (en vétéran) « Ursula Andress du Haras d’Helios », en super condition pour ses 10 ans, termine 3^ème TB sous les jugements de Mr H. Härling de Suède. Goldie, très appréciée, termine avec le qualificatif excellent (4^ème) en champion. Le juge observait beaucoup la démarche : la jeune LightMoon était encore un peu instable en mouvement vu sa jeunesse et son manque d’expérience, mais elle a bien travaillé, avec sérieux et plaisir, recevant de bons commentaires pour sa statique, le qualificatif TB et le certificat d’aptitude à l’élevage (confirmation). Bon sang ne saurait mentir avec 2 parents champions en beauté qui apprécient se présenter en exposition !

Under more than springy sunshine, lhe kennel entered three bitches to the breed specialty (NE-B) organized by the Belgian Whippet Club on the site of the Beringen racing track where our whippets have enjoyed long walks in a very pleasant environment: the young "Hunting Free LightMoon" for his first show, her mother, the champion "Hunting Free Goldie" and Veteran Champion "Ursula Andress du Haras Helios" in super condition regarding her 10 years, finished 3rd Very Good under the judgments of Mr H. Harling (Sweden). Goldie, well appreciated, ends with the Excellent qualification (fourth) in champion class. The judge observed much the movement: the young LightMoon was still a little unstable in move regarding her youth and lack of experience, but she worked well, with serious and foy, receiving good comments for her static, the Very Good qualification and Authorization to Breed Certificate (confirmation). Good blood does not lie with two champions parents who appreciate to present themselves in shows!

Premier (et très certainement dernier) coursing international pour Dixietown Min Egen Metod à Axel (NL) qui, malgré un mauvais résultat et 2 belles courses (dernière place !) obtiendra par cette 4ème participation à une épreuve internationale, le certificat FCI (en cours de demande) qui lui permettra l’inscription en classe travail de toutes expositions, et ce grâce à ses précédents très bons résultats dans la discipline ! …

First (and certainly last) international lure coursing for Dixietown Min Egen Metod in Axel (NL) who, despite a bad result and two great races (last place!), will get through this fourth participation at an international event, the FCI certificate (in request) to enable the entry in working class at all dog shows, due to her previous good results in the discipline! ...

A l’exposition nationale de Maubeuge (F), le jeune Hunting Free Klinton, malgré son manque d’expérience, a démontré ses qualités sous le jugement de Mr Brixhe (B) qui l’a beaucoup apprécié ! Il y obtient le qualificatif 1er excellent RCACS, félicitations à sa copropriétaire Patricia ! Pour répondre à la réaction d’une concurrente, rappelons que c’est la qualité du whippet qui est jugée, ce n’est pas du show handling !

At the national dog show in Maubeuge (F), the young Hunting Free Klinton, despite his lack of experience, has demonstrated his qualities under the judgment of Mr Brixhe (B) which has much appreciated him ! Première épreuve internationale de coursing pour 2 des étalons de l’élevage à Rougé (France) où je suis toujours très bien accueillie par des passionnés tant par les propriétaires du Swin Golf que par l’équipe des organisateurs : pour cela, je les en remercie ! Un seul gros regret toutefois, le maintien de la décision du juge belge qui, malgré la demande de certains concurrents relayée par le juge français et plusieurs chutes dans les étangs de whippets femelles (difficulté d’en sortir pour la jeune de Corinne, dans une eau que vous imaginez plus que froide après cet hiver rigoureux) n'aurait pas voulu changer le parcours pour les whippets mâles, parcours dont une poulie permettait aux plus rapides de ne découvrir l’obstacle (l’étang) que lorsqu’ils avaient touché l’eau ! Pas de problème chez mon whippet ainsi que ceux de Patricia D’Hondt, le seul qui ait sauté dans l’eau est celui qui n’hésite pas à nager pour chasser les canards ou les poules d’eau, à savoir le Champion Inter Celtic Free Hunter mais cela faussait la sélection, hormis le froid évident ! A peine avait-il regagné le bord, qu’il se remit à courir après le leurre sans le rechercher un instant et finit la course avec une énorme volonté (son coéquipier étant, pour l’anecdote, tombé dans le 1er étang et n’a jamais voulu redémarrer au second tour)… Mais cela, apparemment, certains ne s’en préoccupent pas tant qu’ils sont bien placés pour leurs photos, même dans une barque dans un des étangs sans se soucier de distraire les coursiers dont mon mâle (difficile de penser qu’un être humain pouvait flotter sur l’eau) et qu’ils en rigolent bien de la manière dont, franco, il a plongé (pour ceux qui connaisse mon gamin à la volonté de chasseur surdimensionnée). Belle mentalité aussi de certains du public dont celui qui a proposé à Corinne de mettre une bouée à sa femelle ou celui me précisant qu’il y a un maître nageur dans les environs ! Tous ces gens savent-ils que le lévrier, contrairement aux chiens de chasse classiques de meute ou de rapport, hormis l’épaisseur du sous poil, inexistant chez le whippet, passe en plein sprint de 38°C à presque 42°C : que le passage subit dans une eau glacée peut tétaniser les muscles ! Pour ceux qui critiqueraient mes remarques, voilà presque 20 ans que je vais à Rougé et certains de mes lévriers sont parfois tombés dans les étangs mais souvent pendant les beaux jours, pas après de telles conditions hivernales, avec un parcours qui allait plus loin et rendait visible les étangs depuis 50m ! En voyant les femelles, j’ai voulu retirer mes mâles mais on m’a dit que si le vétérinaire de l’épreuve ne donne pas son accord (donc uniquement chien malade ou pas en condition), je risquais la même sanction (à savoir 1 an d’interdiction de faire courir mes lévriers) que quelqu’un qui dope ses lévriers, donc une même sanction pour celui qui joue avec la santé de son coursier et celui qui veut la préserver, incroyable !!

Enfin, voici les résultats : Ch. (IC) Celtic Free Hunter : 14^ème excellent sur 22 et, pour sa 1^ère épreuve, le jeune Hunting Free Klinton (demi-frère et même père que 2 récents Champions de France de la discipline : à savoir le Multi Ch. Hunting Free Dragon avec une mère importée de Suède sélectionnée aussi en coursing et en beauté) termine 1er excellent CACP & CACIL, félicitations Patricia ! Bon sang ne saurait mentir !!

Ce jour également, à Beringen, Hunting Free InExcess et Hunting Free Eternity se classent respectivement 7ème et 8ème sur 12.

First lure coursing competition for 2 of the kennel's studs, in Rougé, where I am allways welcomed by organisers either by others competitors. I thank them for that. One big regret, however, is the maintaining of the Belgian judge's decision, despite the request of some competitors relayed by a french judge and several falls in ponds whippets bitches who would not have wanted to change the trail for whippets dogs, whose faster discovered the pond only when they were already in the water ! No problem with my whippet as well as those of Patricia D'Hondt, the only one who jumped into the water is the one who does not hesitate to swim to hunt ducks and moorhens, namely the Inter Champion Celtic Free Hunter! No sooner had he returned to the board, he began to run after the lure without searching it and finished the race with a huge desire (his teammate, for the record, fell into the first pond and never wanted to start in the second round) ... But, apparently, some people don't care as long as they are well placed to take pictures, and they laugh about how well my dog dived (for those who know him, my kid has his hunting will oversized). Encore un grand merci à son éleveur de m’avoir confié une si jolie femelle ainsi qu’à Christine de me l’avoir présentée en expositions en Europe !
